Is there any such thing as an easy diet? You may be surprised at the answer.

If you ask most any weight loss expert about how easy their program is to follow, they’ll tell you that it is very easy. But are they just trying to make a sale or is it true that their plan is simple to follow? What’s the answer? It depends.

 

The Plan vs. The Mindset

 

Generally when someone wants to know if the diet plan is easy, they think they are asking about the mechanics of it, or how the plan works. For instance, eating every three hours or adding certain foods into your menu would fall under this umbrella of information and certainly help you lose weight.

 

However, in reality, the person posing the question is more than likely asking about how easy it is to change their mindset to properly work the plan. This is a completely different question.

 

Anyone can follow instructions. Simply do what the plan tells you to do and don’t do what it tells you not to do. However, embracing the diet plan and what it requires you to do isn’t always quite that easy. It takes changing the beliefs that fuel your actions and, unfortunately, there is no quick and painless way to do that.

 

How to Make Any Diet Plan Easy

 

Just because the process may be a little more difficult when you’re changing attitudes instead of just changing your behavior, that doesn’t mean that it is impossible. Here are some beliefs that you can work on that will truly make almost any diet program easy to follow:

 

  • “I can do this” – First and foremost, if you don’t believe you can do the diet, you won’t be able to.  You are telling your mind that you give it permission to fail. Telling yourself you can accomplish your goal is something you should say to yourself over and over again until you actually believe it; then say it some more.

     
  • “This diet is easy” – Whether there is any truth at all behind this statement is irrelevant. Your perception is your reality so if you perceive the process to be easy, then that is what it will be. However, if you keep telling yourself how hard it is, that is what it will be. If you don’t believe this, just try it out for a week or two. Your mind is infinitely more powerful than most people realize.

     
  • “I will do what it takes to succeed” – The only difference between success and failure is your commitment level. If you will not stop until you reach your goal, then success is your only option. On the other side, if you accept failure as an outcome, even just a little bit, then you’ll always stop short of reaching your weight loss goal.

     
  • “I have what it takes to succeed” – Although it sounds very similar to the previous statement, it is completely different. Believing that you will succeed is one thing, but knowing that you already have what it takes to do it inside of you is something else.  You were born with everything you need to accomplish anything you commit to…you have just forgotten that along the way.  It’s time to re-learn that you already have the power to succeed.

 

As you can see, a diet is only as easy as you choose to make it. Isn’t it time to make yours so simple that you could do it all day, every day? After all, that is when you’ll see weight loss success, right?
