Granita ice desserts are easy to make without the need for ice cream makers or blenders. Try this delicious version that’s festively red for the holidays.

1. Stir together all the ingredients and taste for additional sweetness or flavor. Pour into a shallow, freezer proof container and freeze uncovered.

2. Every 15 to 20 minutes, use the tines of a fork to fluff the ice mixture and return to the freezer. When the mixture appears sno-cone-like, it is ready to serve.
