1. Stir together all the ingredients and taste for additional sweetness or flavor. Pour into a shallow, freezer proof container and freeze uncovered.
2. Every 15 to 20 minutes, use the tines of a fork to fluff the ice mixture and return to the freezer. When the mixture appears sno-cone like, gently smooth over the top of the granita with a knife.
3. Take a 3 inch heart shaped cookie cutter, press it into the granita, and with the help of a spatula remove and transfer to a plate. Repeat to make 2 hearts and serve immediately.
