The flavorful sauce is what really separates this shrimp cocktail from the norm. You’ll love the array of spices and added kick from cayenne pepper.
Ingredients: 

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth (no sugar!)
  • 1 TBSP lemon juice
  • 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar
  • 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 8 drops Clear Stevia
  • 1/4 tsp. liquid smoke
  • 1/4 tsp. each chili powder, paprika, and curry powder,
  • 1 medium tomato, cored, seeded, and chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
     
  • 3.5 oz. (100g) large shrimp, cooked
Directions: 

1. In a small saucepan combine all the sauce ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

2. Reduce the heat to low and cook, stirring often, until the tomatoes have broken down and the sauce is thick and rich, 5 to 10 minutes.

3. Taste for seasoning, transfer to a bowl and refrigerate.

4. Serve sauce well chilled with shrimp arranged around it.
